Description

The ethnohistory of the native peoples of northeastern Mexico and southeastern Texas during the colonial period set down great challenges for researchers, especially in the difficulties of locating the diverse and copious designations of indigenous groups that we find in historical documents. Another problem is the location of the groups in a given place. The fact that groups in the region had mobility patterns related to gathering and gathering cycles complicates the association of a group to a single, specific place. The creation of mobility maps was carried out from a database of historical documents. This project allows us to have a deeper understanding of the cosmogony and culture of the Native Americans of this region.
